The Conn Center’s Theme Leader for Biofuels, Dr. Jagannadh Satyavolu, has been funded by the United Soybean Board for his project, “An integrated approach to utilize soy hulls in modified fiber composites for 3-D printing applications and produce xylose as a value-added co-product.”
Soybeans offer an abundant and renewable supply of ingredients, making it possible to reduce the petroleum content in commercial and industrial products. Satyavolu is also collaborating with UofL faculty and students on studies of 3-D printing applications utilizing industrial hemp oils.
